Parents and supporters who become Associate Members of FSC are eligible to attend weekend family camps especially for Associate Members and their families. The annual subscription is £10 per family.
Associates Camps allow new child and adult campers with no FSC background to get a taster of FSC life and to decide whether camping with FSC is for them. For those who camped with FSC as children, former staff members and active members of staff with small children they provide a continuing link to camp and an opportunity to introduce their families to FSC camping and to be part of a lodge
Associate Members and FSC staff are all welcome at family camps, with or without their children. There is no age limit, upper or lower, and these camps are particularly suitable for very young children who may be camping for the first time. Supervision of children is the responsibility of the adults who bring them , and there is no organised travel, allowing us to keep the fees to a minimum. Adults and children share in the communal cooking (clan), with food and cooking equipment provided by the camp. There will be many of the usual FSC activities like rally, singing around the campfire, games, walks, and whatever the site and our ingenuity can produce.
Further information and forms for Associate Membership can be found on /parents-reference/associate-membership/ Please note: Associate members (only) will receive details of how and when to apply for associate camps in an email that will be sent out in January at around the same time as the programme.
Note: A parent who becomes an Associate Member or attends a family camp does not give their child any priority on the waiting list to attend any of our main camps

Dates: Saturday 18th July 2026 to Tuesday 21st July 2026

In a hidden place where sunlight drifts like honey through the canopy and the river hums its endless song, whispers tell of great shapes that once walked beneath the trees. Not beasts exactly, nor spirits entirely, but something between - the kind of beings who danced when the world was young and left their laughter folded into the hills. It’s said that their footprints softened into moss, their songs became the wind through the pines, and their warmth lingers in the stones by the river. When dusk settles and the fire crackles low, some claim to have felt the hush of their gaze, patient and kind, waiting for another chorus. So we gather again where they once did - to play, sing and swim, to feast and to dance beneath the same steadfast stars. For though their trails have long faded, the joy they kindled still stirs in the soil, calling us home to the heart of the Gelt.
